Tips!

How to thaw spot prawns:

Spot prawns are best thawed directly from frozen in a colander in your sink. For a quicker thaw, run your tap with cold water gently over the prawns. Refrigerate if not using immediately. Please note these tasty morsels do not need to be deveined.

How to cook spot prawns:

Ideal! Boil 1-2 mins in salted water that tastes like the ocean
Almost as good! Sautée or grill 1-2 mins/side, medium heat
Still delicious! Steam 5-7 mins

We recommend cooking conservatively and preventing tails from surpassing 150F internal temperature.

TRY THIS: drain the prawns when small bubbles start reforming at the top of the pot and the prawns have turned pink. Slightly under-cooked prawns are ideal as they will continue to cook once removed from the heat. Use an ice bath for cooked prawns if you are not serving them right away. Do not let prawns sit in water.
